-Motivational Blog Posts To Encourage You To Stay On The Mainstream Path Of Faith-
You have the tendency of putting yourself first in life, right? I mean, I do it too. It's always, "What am I doing today?" "When will I be able to afford this?" "I want to watch this." "I want to go here." "I want to spend time with this friend." "Why was I not invited?" Life isn't about ME and life isn't about YOU.
As a Christian, my life is lived for Christ. Jesus says that the first two greatest commandments are to love the Lord God with all your heart, soul, and mind and to love your neighbor as yourself. Both of those commandments tell me to put someone before me, whether it's my God or my neighbor. The life of a Christian is a life of service.
It's time to stop making your schedule revolve around you; it's time to take a moment to put someone else first. God should always be a priority in life. There should be a set time of every day for God. Don't shove God in the closet. He already showed you grace. He sent His Son who was a servant to the world. Show your holy God the respect, love, and time He deserves.
Take time throughout your day to see the moments you have a chance to help someone else. This isn't rocket science. Putting someone else's needs before you is as simple as opening the door for someone, offering them help, or asking if they need anything. Maybe ask a friend how they are doing instead of telling them about your problems. Let someone open up to you. Be a friend to the unloved.
I've always tried to be friends with the quiet people; I feel like they are left out. I feel they have a reason they are quiet, whether it's family issues, or just being shy, or rough moments in the past. I love making friends with someone who is quiet because they have a story to tell. Become a friend close enough that they can trust and open up to you is an amazing experience. You would never think of the past trials they may have been through. I have a few friends that use to be very quiet, but now are as loud and joyful as I sometimes am. Seeing someone make it though a tough time can be really inspiring.
Being a blessing for others is a wonderful feeling. Putting a smile on someone's face really means a lot to me. Here are some verses about serving others.
Romans 12:14 "Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not."
I Peter 4:10 "As every man hath received the gift, [even so] minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."
Matthew 20:28 "Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."
Acts 20:35 "I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."
Ephesians 4:28 "Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with [his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth."
Decide to put others before you. When you see an opportunity to help others, take the chance. Be a blessing to others as He has been a blessing to you.
Hi, I am Michael Jaymes. I am 20 years old, and decided to start writing in the winter of 2017. I have always loved writing, and I get to pour out that passion in my blog. I want to be a motivation, an encouragement, and edify my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ that come to MainstreamBlog. I have made my life motto, "I just want to be a blessing." This is where I live that out!
