-Motivational Blog Posts To Encourage You To Stay On The Mainstream Path Of Faith-
So I haven't written in awhile, and that is because I have been working on a book!!! Yes, I am going to self publish my first very own book! I am not exactly sure when it will be done (I'm hoping very soon), but I have also been working on this poem. So I wrote a poem, but I didn't want to post it without backing it up with scripture. So here it is! I hope you enjoy it. God bless!
I wrote for Christians, trying to give a better understanding of their salvation. I hear many testimonies where people talk a lot about what they did and how they accepted Christ. It always makes me think, "Is it really all about what YOU did? How did you make that decision on your own? What caused you to make that decision?" I use to think that I had salvation because one day I asked Jesus to save me and repented of my sin. I am not saying that there is no repentance to salvation; that is definitely part of it! But what happened first? Did I just magically decide one day that Jesus was the answer to all my problems and choose Him, or has God had a purpose and plan for my life, choosing me beforehand allowing me to choose Him also?
I am not trying to offend anyone in this poem, but I definitely come across blunt. If you have your opinions or disagree that's totally okay. I am backing up what I say with scripture and doing my best to explain what I have been learning in my personal study of Soteriology recently. I just want people to realize after salvation how intimate it really is. God chose you first, had a plan, made you who you are for His glory, and has a plan in how He'll use you.
You didn't do anything, saying anything, or be anything different than anyone else; God just decided out of His sovereignty that you were going to be one of His. You rejected Him through life until one day He decided to open your eyes, draw you in, and cause you to choose Him by repenting and believing. And that's not the end; now you are on a journey with God where He is transforming you and sanctifying you more and more into the likeness of His son. Isn't it beautiful!?
I guess I will stop rambling on; here is my poem and there is scripture next to every line to hopefully back everything up. I would encourage you to read all the scripture and really meditate on what the words mean. It was really powerful doing a small study on sin and salvation. Please enjoy.

Hi, I am Michael Jaymes. I am 20 years old, and decided to start writing in the winter of 2017. I have always loved writing, and I get to pour out that passion in my blog. I want to be a motivation, an encouragement, and edify my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ that come to MainstreamBlog. I have made my life motto, "I just want to be a blessing." This is where I live that out!
